The 20-year Master Plan on Water Resource Management (2018-2037), is an improvement from the Water Resource Management Strategy (2015-2026), to be in line with the 20-year National Strategy, which seeks to manage water resources throughout the whole system for the country's water security.
Its objectives are that all villages will have clean water for consumption and production, flood damage will reduce, water quality will be at acceptable standards, and water resource management will be sustainable, under the concepts of balanced development and the participation of all sectors.
The master plan comprises six major areas, involving the management of water for consumption, water security in the industrial sector, water management to tackle floods, water quality and water resource conservation, watershed rehabilitation and soil erosion prevention, and efficient management, such as law improvements and international cooperation.
