The Department of Water Resources reveals the water management plan in response to the announced 20-year national strategy The Department of Water Resources, from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, recently revealed the water management plan in response to the 20-year national strategy, by introducing innovations and technologies to integrate and support improvement in current operations. This will help increase work efficiency and support the needs of household consumption as well as more systematic agricultural and industrial sector usage along with increased conservation intended to revitalize the environment.
Mr. Bhadol Thavornkitcharat, Director-General of the Department of Water Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, revealed that the Department of Water Resources has implemented a 20-Year Water Resources Management Master Plan (2018-2037) for Thailand, which is a framework to develop and enhance the efficiency of the country's water resource management. It includes a master plan covering 6 aspects: Management of water for usage and consumption Building water security in the manufacturing sector Flood management and flooding prevention Water quality management and conservation of water resources Conservation & restoration of degraded watershed forests and prevention of soil erosion Management "It is necessary to introduce innovations and technologies from around the world that have similar terrain and challenges to ourselves and where their tried and tested solutions can assist in managing water effectively in our country. The department fully supports THAI WATER EXPO 2021 (THW) and foresees that this event will benefit the country's water management intentions as it is a gathering of organizations and professionals with expertise from both Thailand and overseas. It will strengthen relationships and build networks of water management expertise from which all can benefit. Participants will also learn of new water technologies and innovations and open up differing perspectives introduced by leading companies from around the world. The exhibits will spark modern water management concepts that bring various innovations forward for potential implementation and provide maximum benefit to the business sector and the country", concluded the Director-General of the Department of Water Resources.
