Thai EV Market Set to Grow in Double Digit in the Coming Years

The future of the Thai Electric Vehicle (EV) industry is growing steadily by following the trend towards zero carbon emissions. EVs have grown exponentially from 3 million cars a year to 7 million cars. Technologies and innovations can help to solve pollution problems for Thailand such as greenhouse gas emissions, the PM2.5 problem and it also presents outstanding business opportunities.

Thailand aims to be the regional manufacturing hub and also automotive parts supplier for the EVs by 2030. All types of vehicles will be promoted and turned into ZEVs.

The government provides measures such as tax reductions for import to support manufacturers in Thailand. It will also subsidize the price of electricity for charging stations and in addition, already has plans to install more charging stations.

Cheaper annual EV registrations renewal is also considered to support the change to EVs. Thailand's EV market in 2020-2021 doubled in size in comparison to 2019-2020.
