The Government to accelerate Thailand as the regional hub for EVs with tax reduction measure

The government aims to promote electric vehicles and press Thailand forward as the ASEAN hub for manufacturing electric cars and motorcycles. In support of this an excise tax reduction measure is being introduced by the Government.

The subsidies range from 70,000 - 150,000 baht and will be given to participating carmakers in order to do promotional discounts for the public. It is believed that this measure will help to promote more electric vehicle investment in the country and at the same time reduce CO2 emissions and negative environmental impact. The electric vehicle industry using clean energy and cutting-edge technology will reinforce Thailand's status as the Detroit of Asia and is a step forward in the national strategic plan to generate income and increase the country's competitiveness.

Development of the electric vehicle industry is gaining strong momentum as the government and private sectors are working to make Thailand a major EV production hub. There is also great enthusiasm among local car users, attracted by the environment - friendly advantages, reasonable prices and increased confidence in its long-term use.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE ASIA (EVA) 2022 will provide a special business platform for manufacturers of technologies, equipment, infrastructure, batteries and other related EV technologies.
