RECORD BREAKING MILITARY EVENT IS INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS

For the past three days, DEFENSE & SECURITY 2015 has proved to be a winner. The show features over 340 defence and internal security companies from over 40 countries - manufacturers of essential military hardware and software. The response from exhibitors plus official Thai and overseas Delegations and general visitors, has been over whelming.

Major national displays at the show include Pavilions from Belarus, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Serbia, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, UK, USA, and Thailand. Equally impressive has been the number of ASEAN and Thai Delegations that have visited the stands.

The 2015 exhibition features the latest defence and internal security equipment, including weapons systems, guns, missiles, tanks, UAVs, transport vehicles, vessels, satellites, telecom & a wide range of electronic defense technology. Manufacturers of fire control systems, launchers and other important military systems and hardware are also on special display.

PLAYS IMPORTANT ROLE

The Internal Security section at the show features high-tech equipment ranging from security products such as CCTV to intruder alarms, access & electronic security, personal hand guns, body armour, riot control equipment, protective gloves, night-vision technology, communication jamming devices and many other cutting-edge products from major manufacturers.

ASEAN CYBER SECURITY SEMINAR

Running in conjunction with DEFENSE & SECURITY 2015 are several highly informative Seminars and Conferences. A major Seminar that took place on Day 3 was ‘Cyber Security Seminar and Desktop Exercise’ which was organised by the Thai Ministry of Defence with the co-operation of the National Cyber Security Specialist Center, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Malaysia.

The Seminar began with opening remarks from Deputy Permanent Secretary for Defence, Adm. Anuthai Rattarangsi followed by a panel discussion; “Coherent Approach in Mitigating Cyber Threats.” The panel consisted of Col. Dexter Harrison, USFK Joint Cyber Center; Mr. Kwang Hee Choi, KrCERT; Mr. Park Raey-Ho, Director General for Information Planning, Dr. Chaichana Mitpant, Deputy Executive Director, Electronic Transactions Development Agency (Public Organization), and Mr. Thanongsak Kijtronee, Representative from Provincial Electricity Authority. The Seminar was followed by a Desktop Exercise which focused on “Security Critical Infrastructure against Cyber Attacks.”
